Dev Blog #25
Dear friends, it’s time to unveil another innovation in our Korea project.

For this purpose, we are going to descend from the skies to the ground once again and tell you what targets await virtual pilots on its muddy terrain. In the previous dev blogs, we have already shown you artillery guns with functioning crews that perform the whole process of loading and firing, as well as the variety of trucks and their possible loads and objects they can pull. Today we are going to tell you about something never seen before in the IL-2 series: functional infantry.

In the Battle of Normandy module of Great Battles, we have a simple American infantry unit that you can see in the Normandy landing scenarios. In the Korea project, we decided to take that idea and develop it further.
In our new project, Korean, Chinese, and US infantry will be represented by three types of squads: rifle, assault, and light machine gun squads. The soldiers of the rifle squads are armed with rifles, the assault gunners are armed with submachine guns, and the light machine gun squad consists of three men: a machine gunner with a light machine gun, an ammunition carrier, and an SMG gunner. All soldiers will fire at targets, move around, and each can be killed independently. Infantry squads now accompany tank attacks.
In addition to infantry squads, heavy machine guns will be more detailed and have detailed crews. There will also be a completely new type of object — light and medium mortars. Machine gunners and mortarmen, as well as artillerymen, will perform the necessary actions for loading and firing and can be taken out of action individually.
So in the Korea project there will be a whole layer of new, full-fledged, rather than decorative ground targets — this will make the gameplay even more variable.

Later we will tell you more about many other things that will be waiting for the player on the ground. Stay tuned for more news!
