The second point is that there can be several types of roads on the map at the same time, with different pavements and different widths. In the video, you can see that in the game world, there is two-way AI traffic on the road network, which greatly expands the possibilities for scenario design. The road textures and details in this video are still WIP, as are the landscape and vegetation, but when they are finished the picture of the virtual landscape will be final.
The third thing we invite you to look at is the power poles that are automatically placed along the roads. In the 1950s, power lines were already ubiquitous and must be in "Korea". As with everything we do, we did not just "add" the poles as decoration, but took steps to fit them into the world both graphically and physically. The poles are connected by wires, a collision or explosion can cause them to fall, and it’s not just a prepared animation — the fall of the pole and the behavior of the wires is calculated by the physics engine. Sometimes a broken pole can just hang on the wires.
This video also clearly demonstrates what you have only seen in screenshots — a new level of detail in ground vehicles, as well as their physical behavior during collisions and damage. All of this will create a new sense of reality in the virtual world around you, especially when performing ground attack missions.
In future editions of the Dev Blog, we will tell you about other innovations in the game world of the new project. Stay tuned for more updates!
